As a Community School we are proud to offer many diverse programs and opportunities for all ages--students, parents, guardians and community members.
Roots of Empathy
In the Roots of Empath program, we have the opportunity to teach students that some things babies can do now, and some things they are not able to do yet. We introduce the term "not yet" rather than "no they can not" so that children will begin to understand that we do know, for example, that babies will one day be able to walk. This also teaches them that babies learn and grow at different paces, just like all of them! This is also an excellent opportunity to remind students about how we are always sure to be kind to a baby, and that we need to treat our friends the same way.
