Alonsa Community School
Community Connector - Amanda Gurke
[email protected] Communtiy Support Worker - Suzette Pettit [email protected] Alonsa School is proud to be designated as a Community School through Manitoba Education. We are able to provide programming supports for the Alonsa School student community which includes breakfast, lunch and healthy snack programs, special presentations and varied academic and social supports.
Our Community Connector has a challenging, yet rewarding position that encompasses the goals of and objectives of Community Schools as well as specific priorities of our school. Mrs. Gurke works with administration and school staff to plan and implement activities that accomplish these goals. She also works as a liaison with parents, guardians and the surrounding communities within the catchment area of Alonsa School. Our Community School Support Worker works to serve up nutritious breakfast items, hot lunches as well as healthy snacks. Mrs. Pettit also helps with our gardening program! As we are a Community School, we have a designated Community Room that enhances the programing we provide through the Community Schools Project. Our Community Room is open to everyone--parents, guardians and community members. All visitors are welcome but must check in at the main office before heading down the community room. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Gurke at 204-767-2168 or [email protected] . |
